The La Honda Educational Foundation

raises funds to enhance the educational experience of La Honda Elementary School students by funding

teachers and enrichment programs beyond what the level of state support would otherwise allow. Our

school is located on the rural San Mateo County coast and we are fortunate to be surrounded by state and

county parks, open space regions, and camps. However, the resulting low growth, small population and

lack of industry severely limit our financial resource base.

The recent state budget cuts have drastically slashed funding across California, therefore we are uniting to raise

funds for teachers' salaries or risk the loss of 2 teachers in January 2004.

Our immediate goal is to raise $90,000 before the end of 2003 to keep our current teachers in place,

while cutting spending in many other areas. In the long run, we hope to raise enough to buffer our funds for these programs

through and beyond these difficult economic times.

La Honda Educational Foundation and the community of La Honda

invites you to join us for this wonderful event while helping our youngsters get the best education possible!
